1. God is Spirit
- God is not a physical being with flesh and bones.
- John 4:24: "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."
- He has no beginning and no end. He exists outside of time.
- Psalm 90:2: "Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God."
- 1 Timothy 1:17: "Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only wise God, be honour and glory for ever and ever. Amen."
- He does not need anything or anyone for His existence.
- Exodus 3:14: "And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you."
- Acts 17:25: "Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things."
- He does not change in His being, purpose, or character.
- Malachi 3:6: "For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed."
- James 1:17: "Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning."
- He knows all things—past, present, and future—perfectly.
- 1 John 3:20: "For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things."
- Psalm 147:5: "Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite."
- Isaiah 46:10: "Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure."
- He is present in all places at all times.
- Jeremiah 23:24: "Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD."
- Psalm 139:7-8: "Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there."
- He has unlimited power and nothing is too hard for Him.
- Genesis 17:1: "And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect."
- Jeremiah 32:17: "Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee."
- Revelation 19:6: "And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth."
- He is absolutely pure, separate from sin, and morally perfect.
- Leviticus 19:2: "Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel, and say unto them, Ye shall be holy: for I the LORD your God am holy."
- 1 Samuel 2:2: "There is none holy as the LORD: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God."
- Isaiah 6:3: "And one cried unto another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts: the whole earth is full of his glory."
- He cannot lie, and all His words are true and sure.
- Numbers 23:19: "God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?"
- Deuteronomy 32:4: "He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he."
- Titus 1:2: "In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began."
- All His ways are fair and upright; He judges sin and rewards righteousness.
- Psalm 11:7: "For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright."

- Revelation 15:3: "...just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints."
- He shows undeserved favor and tender mercy toward His creation.
- Exodus 34:6: "And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth."
- Psalm 103:8: "The LORD is merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy."
- 1 John 4:8: "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love."
- He is the ultimate source of all goodness.
- Psalm 34:8: "O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him."
- Nahum 1:7: "The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him."
- He has absolute authority and does according to His will in heaven and earth.
- 1 Chronicles 29:11: "Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all."
- Psalm 115:3: "But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased."
- Daniel 4:35: "And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?"
- No man has seen His full essence, for He is Spirit and dwells in light unapproachable.

- There is no other God besides Him.

- Isaiah 45:5: "I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me."
- Isaiah 44:6: "Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God."
