Overview
Zereda (also spelled Zeredah) was a city in the territory of Ephraim in ancient Israel. It is primarily known as the hometown of Jeroboam son of Nebat, who would later lead the rebellion against Rehoboam and establish the northern kingdom of Israel. The town's mention in Scripture connects it to a pivotal moment in Israel's history when the united kingdom divided.
