Overview
Zaretan (also spelled Zarethan) was a significant location in the Jordan Valley east of the Jordan River. It served as a geographical marker during Israel's crossing into Canaan and was later known for its role in bronze work during Solomon's reign. The city's mention in Scripture highlights both God's miraculous intervention and the organized structure of the united monarchy.
