Thamah was the head of a family of temple servants (Nethinim) who returned from exile in Babylon during the restoration of Jerusalem under Zerubbabel's leadership. The Nethinim were descendants of non-Israelite workers dedicated to assist the Levites in temple service. Thamah's household numbered 973 individuals, indicating a substantial family group committed to God's work.
