Shahazimah

Shahazimah was a city in the tribal territory of Issachar, listed among the towns allocated to this tribe during the conquest of Canaan.

Overview

Shahazimah was one of the cities assigned to the tribe of Issachar when Joshua divided the Promised Land among the twelve tribes of Israel. Located in the northern portion of Canaan, this city formed part of Issachar's territorial inheritance. Though mentioned briefly in Scripture, it represents God's faithful fulfillment of His promise to distribute the land among His covenant people.

Key Scriptures

"Jezreel, Chesulloth, Shunem, Hapharaim, Shion, and Anaharath, then Rabbith, Kishion, Ebez, Remeth, En-gannim, En-haddah, and Beth-pazzez." (Joshua 19:18-21, ESV). This passage lists the cities of Issachar's inheritance, with Shahazimah mentioned among the towns of the tribe.

Application

The careful documentation of Israel's tribal land divisions reminds believers that God's promises are specific, intentional, and perfectly executed—encouraging us to trust His guidance in our own circumstances.
