Overview
Shabbethai was a Levite of prominence during the restoration of Jerusalem after the Babylonian exile. He is mentioned in connection with Ezra's reform efforts and later served in Jerusalem during Nehemiah's governorship. His role involved assisting the people in understanding God's Word and maintaining the temple worship.
