Overview
Sacrilege involves treating holy things, God's name, or His temple with irreverence or contempt. The Bible portrays sacrilege as a violation of God's holiness and a serious spiritual offense that brings judgment. It includes both deliberate desecration and careless irreverence toward what God has set apart as sacred.
