Overview
Phalti son of Laish received Michal, King Saul's daughter and David's wife, as Saul attempted to distance David from the royal family and secure his own dynasty. This arrangement violated Michal's previous marriage covenant with David and illustrated the corruption of Saul's leadership. When David later became king, he demanded Michal's return, exposing the illegitimacy of Saul's actions.
