Overview
Noph (Memphis) was Egypt's ancient capital and a major center of pagan worship. The prophets Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Isaiah all reference Noph when pronouncing God's judgment against Egypt for its pride, idolatry, and opposition to God's people. These prophecies emphasize that no earthly power—however great—can stand against the Lord.
