Overview
The Lord commanded the prophet Isaiah to name his son Maher-Shalal-Hash-Baz as a sign to the people of Judah. This unusual name served as a living prophecy that before the child could speak, the wealth of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria would be carried away by the king of Assyria. The child became a tangible reminder of God's coming judgment and His sovereignty over nations.
