Overview
The Bible presents kingship as an institution ordained by God for the administration of justice and the welfare of the people. Kings are accountable to God's law and must rule with righteousness, compassion, and wisdom. Their authority is derivative, not absolute, and they remain subject to God's sovereignty and Word.
