Jaroah

Jaroah was a Gadite clan leader listed in the genealogies of 1 Chronicles whose name appears in the historical records of Israel's tribes.

Overview

Jaroah is mentioned only once in Scripture as a descendant of Gad in the tribal genealogies. He appears in the listing of Gadite family heads during the time when their genealogies were recorded, representing one of many faithful families within the tribe of Gad who maintained their lineage and inheritance in the land east of the Jordan River.

Key Scriptures

"Jaroah son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz" (1 Chronicles 5:14, NIV).

"All these were entered in the genealogical records during the reigns of Jotham of Judah and Jeroboam of Israel" (1 Chronicles 5:17, NIV).

Application

Though Jaroah's life details are unknown, his inclusion in God's genealogical record reminds us that the Lord values and remembers the faith and lineage of His people throughout history, encouraging believers to live faithfully regardless of whether their names are known to others.
