Others make him the uncle of Jesus by identifying him with Cleophas and calling his wife a sister of the mother of Jesus ; but it is more likely that "the sister of the mother of Jesus," mentioned John 19:25, was Salome, the mother of John, who was at the cross, according to the synoptical Gospels.
