Barak son of Abinoam was summoned by Deborah to gather 10,000 men from Naphtali and Zebulun to fight Sisera, commander of King Jabin's army. Barak refused to go unless Deborah accompanied him. She agreed but prophesied that the honor of victory would go to a woman. Barak led the charge down Mount Tabor, routing Sisera's chariots. Sisera fled and was killed by Jael, a Kenite woman. Barak is praised in Hebrews as a man of faith.
