Ahab

The seventh king of Israel, who reigned for 22 years and is considered the most wicked king of the northern kingdom due to his marriage to Jezebel and promotion of Baal worship.

Ahab married Jezebel, a Phoenician princess who aggressively promoted the worship of Baal and Asherah, slaughtered God’s prophets, and introduced pagan practices into Israel. The prophet Elijah confronted Ahab during a three-year drought, famously defeating the prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel. Ahab coveted Naboth’s vineyard; Jezebel had Naboth killed, and Elijah pronounced judgment on Ahab’s house. Ahab died in battle at Ramoth-gilead, and dogs licked his blood as prophesied.
