Suah

Suah was a son of Zophah in the tribe of Asher, mentioned in the genealogical records of 1 Chronicles. Little is known about him beyond his family lineage.

Overview

Suah appears in the genealogical listing of the tribe of Asher during the time of David's reign. He was descended from Asher through his son Zophah, representing one of the many family lines that made up the twelve tribes of Israel. The Asherite genealogies were carefully maintained to preserve tribal identity and inheritance rights.

Key Scriptures

"The sons of Zophah: Suah, Harnepher, Shual, Beri, Imrah" (1 Chronicles 7:36, ESV).

"These were the heads of the fathers' houses of the Asherites, choice men, mighty warriors, heads of the princes" (1 Chronicles 7:40, ESV).

Application

Suah's inclusion in Scripture reminds us that God values the complete history of His people and preserves the records of ordinary believers whose names are recorded for eternity in His Word.
