Overview
Senuah was a Levite who held a position of authority in Jerusalem after the Jewish people returned from Babylonian exile. He served as an overseer or deputy ruler of the Levites, helping to organize and lead the religious community in the restored city.
Key Scriptures
"And Joshaphat the son of Azaniah was over them; and Shabbethai and Jozabad, of the chief of the Levites, had the oversight of the outward business of the house of God" (Nehemiah 11:16, KJV). "And Senuah the son of Hasenuah was second over the city" (Nehemiah 11:9, KJV).
Application
Senuah's role reminds us that God uses faithful leaders to rebuild His community and maintain order in His work, and we should recognize those who serve in leadership positions with integrity and dedication.
