Tribulation

Tribulation refers to the afflictions and persecutions that believers experience in this world, yet Jesus assures us of His victory and peace that transcend these temporary troubles.

Overview

Tribulation in the New Testament describes the difficulties, persecutions, and sufferings that Christians face as they follow Christ in a fallen world. Jesus explicitly taught that His followers would experience tribulation, but He also promised that through faith in Him, believers can overcome these hardships and experience His peace.

Key Scriptures

"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world." (John 16:33, ESV)

"Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted" (2 Timothy 3:12, ESV).

"We rejoice in our sufferings for the sake of his body, which is the church" (Colossians 1:24, ESV).

Application

When facing difficulties and opposition for your faith, remember that Jesus has already overcome the world, and His peace is available to sustain you through every trial.
