Tibhath

Tibhath was a city in Syria from which King David took bronze after his military victory, which was later used in the construction of the Temple. This demonstrates God's provision of resources for His house through David's conquests.

Overview

Tibhath was a Syrian city conquered by David's forces during his campaigns to expand Israel's territory and influence. The bronze taken from this city became part of the royal treasury and was eventually dedicated for use in building Solomon's Temple, showing how God provided materials for His house through the victories He granted to David.

Key Scriptures

"From Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took very much bronze, with which Solomon made the bronze sea and the pillars and the vessels of bronze" (1 Chronicles 18:8, ESV).

"So David became famous after he returned from striking down 18,000 Edomites in the Valley of Salt" (1 Chronicles 18:12, NIV), demonstrating the context of David's military victories that provided resources.

Application

Trust that God provides the resources needed for His kingdom work through both victory and provision, and dedicate what He gives you to serve His purposes.
