Overview
Tehinnah is a figure appearing in the genealogical records of the tribe of Judah in the Old Testament. His name means "supplication" or "entreaty" in Hebrew. While details about his personal life are limited, he is identified as the father of Ir-nahash and represents one of many individuals recorded in Judah's ancestral line.
Key Scriptures
"And Chelub the brother of Shuah fathered Mehir, who fathered Eshton. Eshton fathered Beth-rapha, Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Ir-nahash. These were the men of Recah." (1 Chronicles 4:11-12, ESV)
Application
Though Tehinnah is mentioned only briefly in Scripture, his inclusion in the genealogical record reminds us that God values every individual and remembers the lives of His people throughout history, even those whose stories are not extensively detailed in His Word.
