Tahrea

Tahrea was a son of Ahaz in the genealogy of Benjamin, mentioned in the historical records of 1 Chronicles.

Overview

Tahrea appears in the genealogical records of the tribe of Benjamin as a descendant of King Saul through his son Jonathan. Though little is known about him personally, his inclusion in Scripture's genealogies demonstrates God's careful preservation of Israel's tribal records and the continuity of His covenant people.

Key Scriptures

"Ahaz became the father of Jadah, and Jadah became the father of Alemeth, Azmaveth and Zimri; and Zimri became the father of Moza" (1 Chronicles 8:36, NASB). "And Ahaz begat Micah: and Micah begat Pithon, and Melech, and Tapheth" (1 Chronicles 9:41, KJV). The parallel genealogies in 1 Chronicles 8 and 9 provide complementary records of Benjamite lineages.

Application

Tahrea's place in Scripture reminds us that God cares about every person and family line, and that our lives have significance in His sovereign plan even when we are not prominently featured in biblical narratives.
