Overview
Reprobacy describes the state of being rejected or disapproved by God due to persistent rebellion and rejection of His truth. The Bible presents this as God's righteous response to those who continually choose sin over salvation, ultimately resulting in spiritual blindness and condemnation.
Key Scriptures
"The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intention of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually" (Genesis 6:5, ESV). "The Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him to his heart" (Genesis 6:6, ESV). "So the Lord said, 'I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land'" (Genesis 6:7, ESV). Deuteronomy 28:15-26 outlines the curses that follow disobedience: "But if you will not obey the Lord your God and will not be careful to do all his commandments and his statutes that I command you today, then all these curses shall come upon you" (Deuteronomy 28:15, ESV).
Application
Examine your heart for any persistent resistance to God's Word, and respond to His conviction with genuine repentance rather than hardening yourself against His truth.
