Overview
Biblical protracted meetings were extended corporate gatherings where God's people assembled for multiple consecutive days to worship, pray, and seek the Lord's presence and blessing. These were not casual occasions but solemn assemblies marked by dedication and spiritual intensity. Such meetings often resulted in seasons of revival and spiritual awakening among the people of God.
Key Scriptures
"Then Solomon observed the Feast for seven days, and all Israel with him—a very great assembly, from the entrance of Hamath to the Brook of Egypt" (2 Chronicles 7:8, ESV). "On the eighth day he held an assembly, because he had observed the dedication of the altar for seven days" (2 Chronicles 7:9, ESV). "So they celebrated the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days; and the whole assembly of Judah celebrated with the priests and the Levites and all the assembly that came from Israel, and the sojourners who came from the land of Israel and those living in Judah" (2 Chronicles 30:23, NASB).
