Overview
Pasach was a son of Japhlet, who was descended from Asher, one of the twelve tribes of Israel. The genealogical records in 1 Chronicles document the family lines of Israel's tribes, preserving the historical record of God's covenant people and their descendants throughout the Old Testament era.
Key Scriptures
"The sons of Japhlet: Pasach, Bimhal, and Ashvath. These are the sons of Japhlet." (1 Chronicles 7:33, ESV)
"The children of Israel also were numbered by genealogies; and, behold, they were written in the book of the kings of Israel and Judah by their transgressions" (1 Chronicles 9:1, KJV)
Application
While Pasach is mentioned only briefly in Scripture, his inclusion in the genealogical record reminds us that God knows and preserves the identity of His people, and every believer's life has significance in God's eternal plan.
