Muppim

Muppim was a son of Benjamin and grandson of Jacob, listed among the seventy members of Jacob's family who went to Egypt. He represents one of the tribal families of Israel during this pivotal migration.

Overview

Muppim was one of the sons of Benjamin, the youngest son of Jacob and Rachel. He is mentioned in the genealogical record of Jacob's descendants who entered Egypt during the famine, representing the third generation of the Israelite family that would eventually become the nation of Israel.

Key Scriptures

"The sons of Benjamin were Belah, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim, and Ard" (Genesis 46:21, ESV).

"And all the souls that came with Jacob into Egypt, who came out of his loins, besides Jacob's wives, all the souls were sixty-six" (Genesis 46:26, NASB), with additional family members bringing the total to seventy.

Application

Muppim's inclusion in the biblical record reminds us that God values and remembers each member of His people, no matter how obscure they may seem in history.
