Overview
Minni was an ancient kingdom located in the mountainous region of Armenia, north of Babylon. In Scripture, Minni is referenced in connection with God's judgment against Babylon, appearing alongside other nations summoned to execute divine wrath.
Key Scriptures
"Set up a standard in the land, blow the trumpet among the nations, prepare the nations for war against her; summon against her the kingdoms of Ararat, Minni, and Ashkenaz" (Jeremiah 51:27, ESV).
This prophecy was fulfilled when the Medes and Persians, whose territories included the kingdom of Minni, conquered Babylon in 539 BC under Cyrus the Great.
Application
Minni's mention reminds believers that God sovereignly directs nations and history to accomplish His purposes, even using pagan kingdoms as instruments of His judgment against those who oppose His will.
