Overview
Christ's return is both a promise and a warning central to biblical eschatology. Jesus Himself declared His intention to return, and the apostles consistently taught this doctrine as motivation for holy living and evangelism. This return will be visible, physical, and accompanied by divine judgment and the establishment of God's eternal kingdom.
Key Scriptures
"Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven" (Acts 1:11, ESV).
"For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first" (1 Thessalonians 4:16, ESV).
"Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near" (Revelation 1:3, ESV).
Application
Live in readiness and holiness, allowing the hope of Christ's return to transform how you prioritize evangelism, relationships, and daily obedience.
