Jiphthah-El

Jiphthah-El was a valley in the territory of Zebulun in ancient Israel, marking a geographical boundary in the Promised Land.

Overview

Jiphthah-El (also spelled Jiptah-El) was a valley located within the tribal territory of Zebulun in northern Canaan. It served as a landmark in establishing the borders of Zebulun's inheritance when the Promised Land was divided among the twelve tribes of Israel.

Key Scriptures

"Then the boundary went up westward and came to Iphtahel, and it went north of Beth-emek and Neiel, then it continued north to Cabul" (Joshua 19:27, ESV).

"This is the inheritance of the tribe of the people of Zebulun, according to their families—these cities with their villages" (Joshua 19:16, ESV).

Application

This geographical reference reminds us that God's promises of the Promised Land were concrete and specific, fulfilled through His faithful allocation of territory to each tribe according to His perfect plan.
