Overview
Mount Gilboa, located in northern Israel, was the location of a catastrophic military defeat for King Saul and the Israeli forces against the Philistines. This battle resulted in the deaths of Saul and his sons, fundamentally changing the course of Israel's monarchy and clearing the way for David to become king.
Key Scriptures

"The Philistines overtook Saul and his sons; and the Philistines killed Jonathan and Abinadab and Malchi-shua the sons of Saul" (1 Samuel 31:2, NASB).
