En-Hazor

En-Hazor was a fortified city in northern Canaan that Israel conquered under Joshua's leadership, demonstrating God's faithfulness in fulfilling His promises to give His people the land.

Overview

En-Hazor was a significant Canaanite city located in the territory of Naphtali in northern Israel. Joshua led a military campaign against a coalition of northern kings, with En-Hazor being a major stronghold in this campaign. The conquest of En-Hazor exemplified God's power to overcome seemingly impossible odds and His commitment to establishing Israel in the Promised Land.

Key Scriptures

"Joshua turned back at that time and took Hazor, and struck its king with the sword. For Hazor formerly was the head of all those kingdoms" (Joshua 11:10, ESV).

"So Joshua took all that land: the hill country and all the Negeb and all the land of Goshen and the lowland and the Arabah and the hill country of Israel and its lowland from Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir, as far as Baal-gad in the Valley of Lebanon below Mount Hermon" (Joshua 11:16, ESV).

Application

Trust that God's promises of provision and protection in your life are as certain as His fulfillment of covenant promises to Israel in the conquest of Canaan.
