Elizaphan

The Elizaphan Return refers to the restoration of Israel under King Hezekiah's leadership, including the cleansing of the Temple and revival of proper worship after a period of spiritual decline. This period demonstrates God's faithfulness to restore His people when they repent and return to His Word.

Overview

During King Hezekiah's reign (729-686 BC), Judah experienced a significant spiritual and national restoration after the idolatrous practices of his father King Ahaz. Hezekiah led the people in cleansing the Temple, restoring proper worship, and renewing the covenant with the LORD. This revival showcases how repentance and obedience to God's Word bring blessing and restoration to a nation.

Key Scriptures

"He removed the high places and broke the pillars and cut down the Asherah. And he broke in pieces the bronze serpent that Moses had made, for until those days the people of Israel had made offerings to it" (2 Kings 18:4, ESV).

"Thus the LORD saved Hezekiah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem from the hand of Sennacherib king of Assyria and from the hand of all his enemies, and he provided for them on every side" (2 Chronicles 32:22, ESV).

Application
