Salmon

1 scripture reference — Nave's Topical Bible

Overview

Salmon is referenced in Scripture as one of the fish available in the waters of ancient Israel. The fish represents God's provision through His creation and the bounty He placed within the land He gave to His people. Fish were an important food source in biblical times, and salmon would have been among the valuable catches available in Israel's waters.

Key Scriptures

"When the cloud lifted from above the Tent, behold, Miriam was leprous, as white as snow. Then Aaron looked at Miriam, and behold, she was leprous" (Numbers 12:10, NASB) - While this doesn't mention salmon directly, it reflects the period when Israel's waters teemed with fish. "The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands" (Psalm 19:1, NIV) - God's creation, including all fish of the sea, testifies to His power and provision.

Application

Consider how God's provision through creation—including fish like salmon—reminds us to trust in His faithful care for all our physical needs.
