Overview
Karkaa (also spelled Karka) was a boundary city in the Negev region assigned to the tribe of Simeon within Judah's territory. Listed among the cities of the southern inheritance, it marked part of the border of Simeon's allotted land. The city exemplifies how God methodically divided Canaan among the twelve tribes according to His sovereign plan.
Key Scriptures
"And their southern boundary began at the end of the Salt Sea, from the bay that faces southward. Then it goes out toward the south side of the Ascent of Akrabbim, continues to Zin, and goes up south of Kadesh Barnea, along Hezron, up to Addar, and turns about to Karka" (Joshua 15:2-3, NASB).
"All the villages that were around these cities as far as Baalath Beer, Ramah of the Negev. This was the inheritance of the tribe of the children of Simeon" (Joshua 19:8, NKJV).
Application
Remember that God's promises regarding territory, blessing, and inheritance are fulfilled with perfect precision and care for His people.
