Kanah

0 scripture references — Nave's Topical Bible

Overview

Kanah (also spelled Cana) was a small town in Galilee, likely located between Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee. Jesus attended a wedding there and miraculously transformed water into wine when the celebration ran short, revealing His glory to His disciples and establishing His divine authority over creation.

Key Scriptures

"Jesus said to the servants, 'Fill the jars with water.' So they filled them to the brim. Then he told them, 'Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.' They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine" (John 2:7-9, NIV).

"This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory. And his disciples believed in him" (John 2:11, ESV).

Application

Believe in Jesus's power over all circumstances and trust that He cares about both our spiritual needs and the fullness of our earthly lives.
