Joshua

0 scripture references — Nave's Topical Bible

Overview

After the Israelites refused to enter Canaan due to fear and unbelief at Kadesh-barnea, God sentenced that generation to wander forty years in the wilderness. However, He preserved Joshua and Caleb, the two faithful spies, to lead the new generation into the land He had sworn to give Abraham's descendants. This return fulfills God's promise and shows His patience and redemptive purpose across generations.

Key Scriptures

"Not one of all the good promises the Lord your God gave you has failed. Every promise has been fulfilled; not one has failed" (Joshua 23:14, NIV). "Because they have wholly followed the Lord my God" (Joshua 14:8, ESV) describes Caleb's faithfulness. "The Lord your God himself will cross over ahead of you" (Deuteronomy 31:3, NIV) assured the new generation of divine leadership.

Application

Trust that God's promises remain certain even when circumstances delay their fulfillment, and demonstrate faithfulness like Joshua and Caleb to receive what God has prepared.
