0 scripture references — Nave's Topical Bible

Overview

Jemuel (also spelled Nemuel in some passages) was the eldest son of Simeon and Leah, born during Jacob's time in Paddan Aram. He became the founder of the Jemuelite clan within the tribe of Simeon. Though briefly mentioned in Scripture, Jemuel represents the fulfillment of God's covenant promises to Abraham regarding descendants as numerous as the stars.

Key Scriptures

"The sons of Simeon according to their families were: of Nemuel, the family of the Nemuelites; of Jamin, the family of the Jaminites; of Jachin, the family of the Jachinites" (Numbers 26:12, ESV).

"The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman" (Genesis 46:10, ESV).

Application

Consider how God preserves family lineages and tribal identities throughout Scripture, reminding us that He knows and values every believer by name in His kingdom.
