Overview
Hothir was a son of Hosah, appointed as one of the gatekeepers of the tabernacle during David's organization of temple worship. Though little is known about him personally, his inclusion in the official records demonstrates that God values and remembers the faithful service of believers in even seemingly minor roles within His kingdom.
Key Scriptures
"And Hosah had sons: Shimri the chief (for though he was not the firstborn, his father made him chief), Hilkiah the second, Tabaliah the third, Zechariah the fourth. All the sons and brothers of Hosah were thirteen. These divisions of the gatekeepers, corresponding to their chief men, had duties for ministering in the house of the Lord, just as their brothers did." — 1 Chronicles 26:10-12 (ESV)
