Overview
Heshbon was a significant city of the Amorites located in the Transjordan region, east of the Jordan River. Israel captured it during their wilderness journey under Moses' leadership, and it later became a Levitical city assigned to the tribe of Reuben. The city held strategic importance as a regional center throughout Israel's history.
