Overview
After seventy years of captivity in Babylon, God moved the heart of King Cyrus to permit the Jewish people to return to Jerusalem and rebuild the temple. Led by Zerubbabel, the first group of exiles returned around 538 BC, marking the beginning of restoration and renewal of worship.
