Overview
Gallim was a small town in the territory of Benjamin, mentioned in connection with King Saul's family. When David fled from Saul's jealous pursuit, Michal (Saul's daughter and David's wife) was given to another man at Gallim, marking a painful separation in David's life during his wilderness years.
Key Scriptures
"Then Saul sent men to David's house to watch it and to kill him in the morning. But Michal, David's wife, told him, 'If you do not save your life tonight, tomorrow you will be killed'" (1 Samuel 19:11, ESV). Later, "Saul had given his daughter Michal, David's wife, to Palti the son of Laish, who was of Gallim" (1 Samuel 25:44, ESV).
Application
Gallim reminds us that even during seasons of loss and separation, God's purposes for His people continue to unfold according to His sovereign plan rather than human circumstances.
