Overview
God's face symbolizes His immediate presence and the fullness of His glory. While no one can see God's face and live in their fallen state (Exodus 33:20), believers are called to seek God's presence and will one day see Him face to face in eternity. This represents the ultimate goal of the Christian faith—intimate communion with our Creator.
Key Scriptures
"You cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live" (Exodus 33:20, NIV). "Now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face" (1 Corinthians 13:12, NIV). "And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God'" (Revelation 21:3, NIV).
Application
Pursue deeper intimacy with God through prayer and Scripture study, trusting that your faith will culminate in the joy of beholding His face in glory.
