Overview
En-Rimmon was a limestone spring and settlement located in the hill country of Benjamin, approximately 13 miles northeast of Jerusalem. After the devastating civil war in Judges 20, where the other Israelite tribes nearly annihilated Benjamin, 600 men escaped to the rock of Rimmon where they lived for four months. This location became significant as a place of refuge and preservation during one of Israel's darkest periods of internal conflict.

"Then the men of Israel turned back against the Benjamites and struck them with the edge of the sword... But 600 men turned and fled into the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon and remained at the rock of Rimmon four months" (Judges 20:45, ESV).
