Overview
Eluzai was one of David's thirty mighty men, belonging to the tribe of Gad. He is mentioned alongside other valiant warriors who recognized David as God's chosen king and joined his forces during his time of exile from King Saul. These warriors demonstrated courage and loyalty to God's anointed leader.
Key Scriptures
"And Eluzai, and Jerimoth, and Bealiah, and Shemariah, and Shephatiah the Harphite" (1 Chronicles 12:5, KJV). This passage lists Eluzai among the Gadites who came to David at Ziklag. "These are the ones who came to David at Ziklag, while he could not move about freely because of Saul the son of Kish; and they were among the mighty men, his helpers in war" (1 Chronicles 12:1, NASB).
Application
Just as Eluzai recognized and supported God's chosen leader despite opposition, believers today should identify with Christ's kingdom and support His purposes with unwavering loyalty and courage.
