Overview
Trees appear throughout Scripture as symbols of spiritual vitality and divine judgment. From the Garden of Eden's Tree of Life and Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil to the righteous person "like a tree planted by streams of water" (Psalm 1:3), trees illustrate both blessing and warning.
