Taralah

Taralah was a small town in the territory of Benjamin, listed among the cities allotted to the tribe during the conquest of Canaan.

Overview

Taralah was one of the minor cities assigned to the tribe of Benjamin during Joshua's division of the Promised Land. Though little is known about this settlement, its inclusion in the biblical record demonstrates God's detailed care in distributing the land among His people according to their tribal inheritance.

Key Scriptures

"The cities of the tribe of Benjamin according to their families were: Jericho, Beth-hoglah, Emek-keziz, Beth-arabah, Zemaraim, Bethel, Avvim, Parah, Ophrah, Chephar-ammoni, Ophni, and Geba; twelve cities with their villages. Gibeon, Ramah, Beeroth, Mizpeh, Chephirah, Mozah, Rekem, Irpeel, Taralah, Zelah, Haeleph, Jebus (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah, and Kiriath-jearim; fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the tribe of Benjamin according to its families." (Joshua 18:21-28, ESV)

Application

Taralah reminds us that God's promises and provisions extend to all His people, regardless of how prominent or remembered they become in history.
