Overview
Sisera served as the commander of King Jabin's army in Canaan and oppressed Israel for twenty years. When Deborah the prophetess called Barak to lead Israel's forces against him, Sisera's nine hundred iron chariots seemed invincible. However, the Lord fought for Israel, and Sisera fled on foot after his defeat, seeking refuge in the tent of Jael, where she killed him while he slept—a stunning reversal that demonstrated God's sovereignty over earthly power.
