Overview
Sihon reigned over the Amorites east of the Jordan River during Israel's wilderness journey. When Israel requested peaceful passage through his territory, Sihon refused and instead mobilized his army against them. God empowered Israel to defeat Sihon decisively, capturing his cities and establishing a crucial foothold in Canaan east of the Jordan.
