Overview
Shunem (also spelled Shunem) was a city allocated to the tribe of Issachar during the conquest of Canaan. The town is primarily remembered in Scripture for its association with a wealthy woman who became known for her faithful service to the prophet Elisha, providing him with food, shelter, and eventually a guest room in her home.
