Shicron

Shicron was a town in the territory of Judah, located on the border between Judah and Dan during the conquest period.

Overview

Shicron was an ancient settlement in Canaan assigned to the tribe of Judah during Joshua's conquest and division of the land. The town marked a significant geographical point along the border between Judah's and Dan's territories, helping establish tribal boundaries in the promised land.

Key Scriptures

"Then the boundary went up from Ekron northward to Shicron and passed along to Mount Baalah and went out to Jabneel. Then the boundary came to an end at the sea" (Joshua 15:11, ESV).

Application

Shicron reminds us that God's promise of the land included specific territorial divisions that established each tribe's inheritance, demonstrating God's detailed provision and the importance of knowing and maintaining our own spiritual territory and calling.
