Pas-Dammim

Pas-Dammim was a location in ancient Israel where David's mighty men displayed their courage and faith in God during battles against the Philistines. This site serves as a reminder of how God empowers His people to accomplish extraordinary feats through trust in Him.

Overview

Pas-Dammim (meaning "boundary of blood") was a strategic location where significant military encounters occurred between Israel and the Philistines during King David's era. The site is mentioned in connection with David's mighty men, whose exploits demonstrated remarkable faith and valor in defending God's people.

Key Scriptures

"And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo the Ahohite. He was with David at Pas-dammim when the Philistines were gathered there for battle. And the men of Israel retreated, but he took his stand in the midst of the plot and defended it and killed the Philistines. And the LORD saved them by a great victory" (1 Chronicles 11:12-14, ESV).

"Now the Philistines gathered their armies for battle. And they were gathered at Socoh, which belongs to Judah, and encamped between Socoh and Azekah, in Ephes-dammim" (1 Samuel 17:1, ESV).

Application

When facing overwhelming opposition, believers should remember that God fights for those who trust in Him and stand firm in their faith.
